Paperman Media (Jaipur)- The 6th edition of the Machhli & Vanya Prani Mitra Awards, organised by WWF India and the Prabha Khaitan Foundation, was held on 23rd March at ITC Rajputana, Jaipur. The awards recognise forest field staff and community members whose extraordinary efforts contribute significantly to wildlife protection and conflict management in Rajasthan.
The awards were presented by Pavan Kumar Upadhyay, PCCF (HoFF) & K. C. A. Arun Prasad (CWLW, Rajasthan). The Machhli Award honoured the Udaipur Wildlife Rescue Team—Sitaram Meena, Ajit Singh Ranawat, Jitendra Singh, Dwaraka Prasad Sharma, and Ashok Narayan Joshi—along with Saroj Kanwar, Anita Kumari, and Ramlal Gurjar for their work in wildlife rescue, community engagement, and anti-poaching efforts. The Vanya Prani Mitra Award honoured Darshan Kumar Menaria, Anil Kumar Bishnoi, and Peera Ram Dhayal for their efforts in managing human-wildlife conflict through community action, sustained service, and rapid response.
A report on " Report release "Status of carnivores and other terrestrial mammals in Indergarh buffer of Ramgarh Vishdhari tiger reserve, Rajasthan" was also released.
