Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- The Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) has paid a dividend of Rs 2,88,37,913 to the Odisha Government for the financial year 2023-24.
The dividend was handed over to Cooperation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradip Bal Samant at his office in the presence of Cooperation Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary Rajesh Prabhakar Patil and OSWC Managing Director Mihir Prasad Mohanty.
The Corporation recorded a total profit of Rs 19.22 crore during 2023-24. At 30 per cent of the profit, the total dividend amounted to Rs 5.76 crore, which was shared equally between its two stakeholders—the Odisha Government and the Central Warehousing Corporation. Accordingly, each stakeholder received Rs 2.88 crore.
Officials including Personal Secretary Pitambar Samal, OSWC Secretary-cum-Financial Adviser Smitanjali Swain, Chief General Manager Trupti Kalyan Sethi and Senior Superintendent Prabhat Kumar Parida were present.
Established in 1958, the OSWC has a total storage capacity of 5,21,600 metric tonnes through 68 warehouses across all 30 districts of Odisha. The Corporation has been consistently generating profits through efficient utilisation of its storage infrastructure.
For 2022-23, each stakeholder received a dividend of Rs 81.59 lakh, while Rs 3.40 crore each was paid for 2021-22. For 2019-20 and 2020-21, each stakeholder received Rs 4.36 crore.
