Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) Karanjia brought laurels to the district with a stellar performance at the CBSE Cluster Championships 2026–27, securing 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals in athletics. Competing among athletes from over 300 schools and nearly 1,252 participants across Odisha, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh, the students displayed exceptional talent, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The highlight of the event was Jagyasmita Nayak, competing in the Under-14 category, who delivered a dominant performance by winning Gold in both the 400m and 600m events. In the Under-19 category, Pabitra Pingua showcased remarkable skill to secure Silver in the 400m and Bronze in the 200m. Both Jagyasmita Nayak and Pabitra Pingua have now qualified to represent the school at the CBSE National Athletics Meet in Patiala.
Adding to the tally, Jagannath Jerai earned a Bronze medal in the 1500m event, while Swagati Munda secured Bronze in the 800m. The Under-17 Girls 4×400m relay team also put on a strong display to capture the Silver medal. Expanding their achievements beyond track events, the school made significant strides in other disciplines by reaching the Quarterfinals in Handball and securing the 5th position overall in Yoga.
