Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- A state-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg at the Lok Seva Bhavan today regarding the preparations for the visit of Hon'ble President of India Smt. Draupadi Murmu to Odisha from 3rd to 5th August 2026. The meeting reviewed in detail the security, protocol and administrative preparations regarding the schedule of the President's visit.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Shri Hemant Sharma, Director General of Police Shri Y.B. Khurania, Director General of Fire Services Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, Secretaries of various departments concerned, Divisional Railway Manager of East Coast Railway and other senior officers of various departments and police administration. The Collector of Cuttack, Collector of Ganjam and Superintendents of Police of the concerned districts joined the meeting through virtual mode.
According to the information received from the meeting, the Hon'ble President will leave New Delhi on August 3rd in a special flight at noon and reach Bhubaneswar airport in the afternoon and from there will reach 'Lok Bhawan'. Later, the Hon'ble President will reach Jagadguru Kripalu University near Banara under Dampada tehsil of Cuttack district by road and will inaugurate the university there and after completing the program, will reach Lok Bhawan in the evening and stay overnight.
The next morning on the 4th, the Honorable President will leave Lok Bhawan and travel to Berhampur by train from Bhubaneswar Railway Station. It was discussed in the meeting that the Honorable President will travel to Berhampur by train in view of the rainy weather. The Honorable President will visit Taptapani on the road and join the darshan, alati and tree plantation program at Devi Peeth there. After the darshan, the Honorable President is scheduled to stay overnight at Army ED College or later as per the final schedule. The Honorable President is also scheduled to visit the Dhabaleswar Temple in Berhampur-Gopalpur on this occasion. The District Magistrate discussed this in this regard. It was learned from the meeting that the Honorable President will reach Bhubaneswar from Berhampur by train on the 5th and return to New Delhi from there by a special Air Force aircraft.
The meeting reviewed the preparations for Lok Sewa Bhawan, Jagadguru Kripalu University, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Berhampur Railway Station, Taptapani and all the programs. Special attention was paid to the sanitation and cleanliness of Bhubaneswar Railway Station, to tighten the security of the railway station premises and to ensure that all security arrangements are flawless during the President's special train journey. Detailed discussions were held with the Cuttack District Magistrate regarding the inauguration program to be organized at Jagadguru Kripalu University and with the Ganjam District Magistrate regarding the hot water system. Darshan and Alati at the hot water temple, tree plantation program, decoration of Berhampur Railway Station, protocol arrangements, road repairs and other related arrangements were also reviewed. A detailed review was made regarding the complete preparations for the visit of the Honorable President, including the Karkade scheme, traffic management, communication arrangements, emergency arrangements, healthcare, ambulance services along with fire services, necessary road repairs, etc. The Chief Secretary has directed all the departments concerned to maintain mutual coordination and complete all the preparations within the stipulated time frame.
