Dr Suryakanta Jew has been conferred the National Academic Excellence Award for his outstanding academic performance in the fields of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry.
The award was presented to her on September 22 during the 47th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD) 2026, held at New Delhi.
Dr Jew was selected for the Academic Excellence Award after securing the highest marks in Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOA).
The award was presented in the presence of Dr Baliga, President of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, and Dr Sushant Mohanty, President-Elect of the organisation.
Dr Vijay Mathur and Dr Gyanendra of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, played key roles in the conference organising committee.
The recognition marks a significant achievement in Dr Jew’s academic and professional career. Following the award, he received congratulations and best wishes from teachers, colleagues, friends and well-wishers. She is the daughter of senior Journalist of Baripada Sukanta Jew.
As a dental professional from Odisha, Dr Jew’s recognition at the national level in Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry has been welcomed as a matter of pride for the state.
